Conveniently sitting in the Toomah Community Centre, less than 50 metres from Cardinia Road Station is On Track Cafe, an innovative social enterprise that stocks ethically made coffee and provides hospitality training for those looking for a foot in the door into the field. The new cafe is seriously considered the heart of the community centre, feeding both hearts and souls!
Operating from the community centre clearly sets an agenda for the space. The natural light that streams in from the large windows hits the walls that displays artwork from local high school students, acting as an art space for the creatives in Pakenham which otherwise wouldn’t have a platform to present their work. For the crazy kids that often run wild in cafe settings, there is a “kids corner” to keep them quite occupied, a wonderful idea to attract families to the welcoming cafe (and to keep them from running into the busy staff!)
The bubbly staff run coffees out to customers and we can confirm, they do the drink well. 10 out of 10 recommend ordering your mug of decaf, double shot, soy, extra hot, no froth (ridiculous but it happens) latte from the waitress behind the counter.
